Demographics:
We travelled with the whole family: 3 kids, 2 parents, 2 grandparents. We spent 6 nights with 5 regular park days and were able to take advantage of the complementary water park day at check in even though it was nearly freezing!
The Area:
Located right in Walt Disney World in the Epcot area, this resort is extremely conveniently located. We took advantage of the bus system both to the parks and also internal to the resort. And we can't stress enough how awesome the skyliner is for both Epcot and Hollywood studios. We never had to wait in line for it and we were there a very busy week (right after Christmas school holidays leading into the first marathon weekend).
The Resort:
This resort has all the beautiful charm of a Disney-fied Caribbean resort. It is, however, large and since Blair's broken foot wasn't fully back to normal, I was worried about the size. Luckily, we managed fine because there are bus and food options spread out nicely and our location at Trinidad 35 was quite close to the main skyliner hub.
The Rooms:
We were lucky to be placed in an Under the Sea themed room in Trinidad 35, 5th sleeper. We also were able to have adjoining rooms with grandma and grandpa so that was great! The rooms are clean, although a bit tight with the 5th sleeper bed pulled down. But the theming was cute and it's pretty hard to beat being part of the disney bubble.
The Pool:
Given that it was early January, the weather was not great for using the pool (it actually hit freezing one of the days while the parks were still open!). But since my kids are typical Canadians, they used the pool almost every day. It's huge and clean and has tons of lifeguards and a really nice bar right beside it. The hot tub was also great after a long day at the parks.
Food and Drinks:
Like everything at Disney, it was expensive. But everyone enjoyed everything they had. The drinks at the poolside bar were shockingly strong so at least we got our money's worth! They had some interesting and delicious Cuban food: fries with ham, pickles and cheese sauce!
Entertainment:
I mean, it's Disney, if you aren't so entertained you're ready to drop by the end of the day, you're doing it much slacker than we do.
